History : |
|
The JaboG 43 was formed with the merging of the JG 72 with parts of the
dismantled AG 54. On 01.10.1964 the "new" JaboG 43 was officially activated. Because of delays with the introduction of the Fiat G.91, the wing flew until 1966 with two different aircraft types, the Sabre Mk.6 of former JG 72 and the Fiat G.91 of the disbanded AG 54. In 1966 when the last Sabre Mk.6 were retired the wing was renamed in LeKG 43 on 01.05.1967. The Fiat G.91 should flew until 1981. After start-up of the introduction of the Alpha Jet it was decide to rename the Wing once again to JaboG 43. This became officially on 31.03.1980. After the German reunification and the global demobilisation the wing was deactivated on 01.01.1994. |
