History : |
In 1959 the new LTG 62 was activated at Celle AFB. Already in 1960 the 1st Squadron, equipped with
Noratlas began to move to Köln-Wahn. The 2nd Squadron stayed in Celle and was used in 1961 to build up the LTG 63. Early in 1961 the LTG 62 got a 3rd Squadron, the Flugbereitschaft BMVg, which was already based in Köln-Wahn. Because the Köln-Wahn AFB was also used as an Civil Airport, in 1963 the 1st Squadron was moved to Ahlhorn AFB, where also a new 2nd Squadron was build up. The 3rd Squadron stayed at Köln-Wahn and was again renamed in Flugbereitschaft BMVg. In 1971 the LTG 62 was disbanded and Ahlhorn becomes the homebase for the new HTG 64. |
